These FAQ’s are regularly updated. If your question is not answered, please do not hesitate to get in touch  

 

Event Registration

 

Can I register on the day?

 

Registrations will be taken on the morning of the event at the Bill Norris Oval.  Please allow plenty of time to register – both cash and eftpos facilities will be available.

 

Will I be mailed my participant pack?

 

No, you will not be mailed your participant pack.  

Your pack, which includes your event bib(s), will be available for pick up prior to the event as well as on the day of the event.   


You can pick up your race pack from PCYC Beenleigh on:

 

  • Friday, 7 June 9:30am - 4:30pm
  • Saturday, 8 June 9am - 2pm

Alternatively you can pick it up on the morning of the event from the Race Pack Collection Desk at the Bill Norris Oval. Please ensure you allow plenty of time before your wave starts to collect your pack.  The Race Pack Collection desk will be open from 7am. 

 

How do I register my embRACE Team?

 

Registering a team can be done on the PCYC embRACE website. Nominate a team captain to register as a participant. Once registered, your team captain will be taken to their dashboard, where they have the option to 'Create a team.' Follow the prompts and once saved, you should be able to view your team by clicking on your team name, under 'your teams.' Now that your team captain is ready to go, other team members can join once they are registered as a participant by clicking 'join a team' on their dashboard.

 

If online registrations close, can I still register?

 

Online registrations will close at midnight on Thursday, 6 June. 

After this you can register:

  • Over the phone on 0439 093 759
     
  • At PCYC Beenleigh:
    Friday 7 June, 9am - 4pm or
    Saturday 8 June, 9.30pm - 2:00pm

     
  • On the day registrations will also be accepted on site at the Bill Norris Oval between 7am – 8.30am.  Entry fees are payable by cash, eftpos or credit card. Please visit the Race Registration desk from 7am (first race wave starts at 8.00am).

 

Course Details

 

What time does the event start?

 

The first wave of participants will start at 8.00am.  Wave two at 9am and wave three at 10am.    Please select your prefered start on the registration form

 

What is the age minimum for PCYC embRACE?

 

PCYC embRACE is open to all ages.  The 2.5km course (one lap) includes giant inflatable obstacles and fun challenges and activities.  Each obstacle/challenge/activity is optional.  Children between the ages of eleven (11) and eighteen (18) must be supervised by an adult.

 

 

Can I take a stroller or scooter on the course?

 

Strollers and prams are permitted in the festival but are not recommended on the course.  For wheelchair users and users of other mobility or accessibility devices,  please be aware that you will be travelling over grassed areas and the course has optional large inflatable obstacles.  Scooters and bicycles are not permitted.

 

Do I have to take on all of the obstacles?

 

None of the obstacles are compulsory and if you prefer not to take them on, you can walk (or run!) around them. Look out for the volunteer marshals who can direct you.

 

Do I have to run?

 

You can run, walk or dance your way along the course! PCYC embRACE is not a timed-event.

 

Where is the start line?

 

The start/finish of the 2.5km course and the community festival is at the Bill Norris Oval, Beenleigh.  

 

Is there parking available?

 

Yes, parking is available.  Please follow any instructions you are given on arrival. 

 

Can I bring my pet to PCYC embRACE?

 

No, for health and safety reasons pets are not allowed on course. Of course, registered guide and/or assistance dogs are always welcome.

 

Will I be timed?

 

No. PCYC embRACE is all about having a fun day out with your friends and family and after completing the course the finish line festival will be waiting for you at the Bill Norris Oval. Feel free to time yourself using a device of your choice!

 

Fundraising

 

How do I fundraise?

 

When you register, your very own fundraising page will be automatically created, and you can start fundraising straight away! You can create or join a team or fundraise on your own. Top fundraisers will show on the front page and receive special recognition and prizes at the finish line festival! So, take on the challenge and make a difference!

Where does my fundraising go?


By fundraising for PCYC Queensland you are making a real difference to the lives of Queensland young people who may be at risk, disadvantaged or disengaged.  For example, $20 will give a young person access to their local PCYC Queensland club for an entire year. Find out more about where your fundraising goes online. The more funds you raise, the bigger the difference you will make!

 

Community Festival

 

Who can come to the community Festival?

 

Everyone is welcome at the community festival, taking place at the Bill Norris Oval in Beenleigh. There will be something for everyone, from fun activities to delicious food, entertainment and displays.

 

Is there a cost?

 

There is no entry fee to the community festival, only pay for what you want. Further details of what will be available at the festival will be provided by email closer to the date.
